Where did we start?
The client has had poor experiences with SEO companies in the past, and as such had been relying on paid advertising as their primary lead generation source. We suggested Local SEO would be the best fit as the customers ideal client is more likely to be looking for this service in the MapsPack.
The website URL structure was unclear, both to users and to Google, and factors such as page titles, meta titles, and descriptions needed to be updated to better reflect the subject of each page.
Ultimately, the client was looking for a more long-term, sustainable online strategy.
What was our SEO strategy?
Alongside the client’s ongoing spend per month on paid Google AdWords, our focus was on improving the Google Business Listing to gain local rankings and improve customer actions.
As part of optimising the Google Business Listing, each section that was relevant to the client was filled out completely, making sure to include the keywords for the client’s main services and service areas.
Additionally, a content plan of both posts for the listing and website content – both service web pages and blog posts – to underpin the keyword strategy for this project.
Where is this client now?
Since employing us in August 2020 to complement what was already working in the client’s paid ads campaign, our team has been able to increase overall leads for the client. As of August 2021, the vast majority of new quote requests are now coming from the client’s website and Google Business Listing, taking over as the primary lead generation channel.
In August 2020, this client saw 21 clicks to the website from the Google Business Listing, increasing to 121 in August 2021, less than a year later. Additionally, the number of calls from the Listing has increased from 6 in August 2020 to 35 in August 2021.
Searches within the client’s Google Business Listing had an increase of over 1700%. At the start of the campaign searches were 519, in August 2021 searches were 8952.
In terms of website traffic, the percentage of users coming in through organic traffic (that is, finding them on Google), has increased 800% within a year. In August 2020 website organic monthly traffic was 57, increasing to 319 in September 2021
Due to the overall success of the campaign and exceeding the client’s expected return on investment. The campaign is now increasing to a full organic SEO campaign, which includes a full website renovation and expansion into the Brisbane market. The client’s budget from Paid Ads is now being moved to this campaign.
