Where did we start?
This client is a luxury home builder on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane, specialising in sloping and other unusual blocks. They build large-scale homes, and even offer their services for renovations or custom in-home constructions. This is a very competitive industry, especially on the Gold Coast.
The client started with us in late 2019 with a view to improve their online presence. Their goals were to perform better than their competitors in these specific areas, and bring in new, qualified leads to the business.
What was our SEO strategy?
Work began for this client by updating the website to give the design a bit of a refresh. The idea was to showcase the high-end builds that this client completes, so that clients are inclined to choose them.
The focus then moved to tidying up the existing pages on the website so that they would be more attractive to search engines, as these already had some presence on Google and Bing. Once the existing pages were optimised, the campaign moved to content for new pages, and other SEO and Local SEO aspects.
The content aspect of the strategy consisted of several location pages for suburbs throughout the Gold Coast. The intent of these is to capture this clients target market of customers who are looking to build in more affluent areas. Additionally, several pages were created to frame this clients main services, such as building on sloped blocks, and a PDF how-to guide containing information that customers need to know was created. This how-to was both featured on the website, and could be given to potential customers as needed (either via email or in print).
Where is this client now?
Over the course of this campaign, the client has been enjoying great results. Over the first nine months of the campaign, the number of sessions where the client has come through a search engine has tripled from 65 sessions a month to 196 a month in June 2020.
Additionally, the number of goals that this client has received (such as calls from the website, contact forms, or other forms of contact) has gone from 24 in the first month to 86 in June 2020, which is great to see.
As of July 2020, this client has also been featured in the ‘maps pack’ at the top of the Google results page for the term ‘builder Gold Coast’ – ahead of the organic results of their bigger, national competitors.
Since the campaign has been running, this client has had the opportunity to connect with others in the industry that they may not have met otherwise, and quoted many new projects from people who have found them online.
This client was impacted by the effects of Covid-19 while the campaign was still only a few months old. As such, we’re seeing a longer return to previous overall traffic numbers. This client however has seen an improvement on their monthly traffic from Google, from 81 sessions in February 2020, to 194 sessions in February 2021, which is a great result. Similarly, this client has seen an increase in goals, or customer actions taken on the website from 38 in February 2020 to 119 In February 2021.
