Where did we start?
This client started with us in January 2020. They were doing well in business, but realised that they could be doing better if they had an online presence. At this point, a lot of their work came from word of mouth.
The client has a website, though it needed some work, but didn’t have a Google Business Listing.
What was our SEO strategy?
To begin, the client needed a Google Business Listing. The first step was to get that created and in the process to be verified.
While that was in progress, attention could be turned to adding content to the site. The initial focus in this area was to create a page for each service the client offers, such as tree lopping, stump grinding, storm damage cleanup and more.
After all these pages were created, the focus turned to adding additional content to the pages that were already existing on the website, such as the homepage and about page. As part of this, details of the clients licensing details were added to the website, as well as additional forms for customers to request a quote.
Where is this client now?
Unfortunately, this client had to put their campaign on hold after only two months, due to budget during the COVID-19 shutdown. However, during those two months they did start seeing some great movement.
For example, during this short time, the client saw an improvement in ranking results, seeing the number of page one rankings increase from seven in the first month to eleven in the second which is great to see.
Additionally, this client saw an increase in conversions from organic traffic (traffic coming through Google searches) from 47% to 69%, which is a good increase trajectory. They also saw an increase in customers going to the contact page, from 18 to 22 in this time.
Once the Google Business Listing was set up, there was an increase in customer actions here too – clicks through to the website increased from 27 to 33, and calls made through the listing increased slightly from one to two.
With these early results, it’s not unreasonable to assume that if this client continues, they will see an exponential increase in traffic and leads through their website.
