About GC Gift Boxes & Hampers
GC Gift Boxes & Hampers has created and delivered chocolate bouquets, gift boxes, baskets and hampers on the Gold Coast since 2010. Their goal is to make it quick and easy to find that ‘just right’ gift for someone on their birthday, who has had a baby, as an anniversary or corporate gift and more. With same-day shipping, 5-star ratings and reliable Australia-wide delivery, they knew they were ready to go to that next level.

Our plan for GC Gift Boxes & Hampers was to utilise their extensive and underutilised data to not only optimise their new website, but determine the best time to perform the migration that would cause the least disruption to their sales and business. By analysing their user behaviour, we found the perfect window to migrate their website when few people would be visiting their site and making sales.
Once we knew when we would migrate, we turned to the how. To give our optimise strategy a boost, we chose WooCommerce through WordPress, the world’s top eCommerce and website platforms. This not only gave us a better chance at ranking their website successfully, but also allowed us to streamline their user experience and design to increase conversions.

The Results
The new website went live in July 2020. Prior to this, GC Gift Boxes & Hampers saw an average of 202 sessions, with spikes in traffic around seasonal holidays, including Christmas and Valentine’s Day. After the website launch, they experienced an immediate growth to an average of 762 sessions a month, which further grew to 928 sessions within the year.
Optimising the business’s user experience and shipping processes also saw great results. We saw a decrease in abandoned cart rates, as well as an 84.9% increase in Sales in December 2020 versus December 2019. With these results, the business was able to expand their marketing budget further to even further their growth and revenue.
